National Night Out - 19-Sep-2008 
NNO is a unique Drug/Crime Prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).  We cordially invite you to be a part of Oakwood's 2008 NNO event on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 6PM-8PM. Some cities have changed to the new date in October while others have stuck with the original August date. Lakeland, Bartlett, Germantown, and Collierville have all moved to the October date to avoid the heat in August. SCSD deputies may cruise through the neighborhood and speak to anyone who has questions about crime prevention or the general responsibilities Law enforcement in our area. The Beautification Committee's goal is to promote the enhancement of the beauty and general living conditions of the neighborhood and encourage homeowners in beautification of their property to insure that pride of ownership shall always exist in the community.

OHA Common Areas - 30-Jun-2008
Oakwood's Common Areas and Non-Disturb areas are the property of the OHA. It is unacceptable to have any personal items placed in these areas (i.e. chairs, fixtures, sod, trampolines, nets, storage items, forts, etc.). Please remove all such items from the OHA Property immediately. Thank you for your cooperation.   
 
Pond - Snakes and Fishing Info - 30-Jun-2008
All residents can now enjoy some time fishing with the family. It is critical all fish caught are to be released back into the pond to maintain the proper balance of fish, oxygen, plant growth, etc. Thanks for your help!
Safety Concern: There have been many snakes seen around the pond and in the trees near the water's edge. Please use caution when going near the water.

The beautiful fountain and light is currently being repaired. We caught a 65 pound beaver this week and are on the way to making it beautiful again. Thank you for your patience! 
 
Lakeland Phonebook - 23-Jun-2008
The Lakeland Phonebook is coming! Within the next 10 days, all Lakeland residents will be receiving a survey for listing your name and phone number in the Lakeland Phone Book!
The book will list your primary phone number, which may be a cell phone, if desired. Any resident may also opt out of having a phone listing. Names and numbers will be used only for this project and not sold or distributed. The Phone Book will be copyrighted.

Forms will also be available at http://www.lakelandtn.gov/ and may be emailed, faxed or personally delivered to City Hall. (We will distribute a notice when this form is available on the website.)

The Lakeland Civic Club is selling advertisements for the LAKELAND PHONE BOOK and is contributing a lot of volunteer hours to this effort! Please support the Lakeland Civic Club by purchasing an advertisement!

The Lakeland Phone Book will be distributed to each residence in Lakeland and every Lakeland business and advertisers. Watch for the survey in the mail or the notice that the form is available at the web site!

This is an issue that you need to be aware of. Please note this is a debate amongst people and the OHA would like to make sure that all residents in Oakwood are aware of this issue since the property lies near our subdivision.
