Kid Friendly

Oakwood is proud of it’s reputation for being kid and family friendly. Lakeland Elementary, located at the north entrance of Oakwood, is a U.S. Dept. of Education Blue Ribbon School and continuously near the very top of elementary schools in the state of Tennessee. Oakwood kids can easily walk or ride their bikes to this great school. Lakeland Middle Preparatory and the future high school which opens for the 2021-2022 school year are only 3 miles away. Our walking trails offer great activities for children and adults and the pool offers great summer fun.

Our Events Committee typically hosts family friendly events focused on children at our Clubhouse such as an Easter egg hunt, 4th of July parade/ice cream social, Halloween party and Christmas party.
